On the compiler

In every language that I’ve used, writing code is a war against the compiler or interpreter or the language grammar or whatever. It’s the thing allows you to talk to a CPU. The compiler is what stands between your intent and what the computer actually ends up doing. It is your enemy.

In the future, we won’t have compilers. We’ll have Siri.
